POPORO
QUIMBAYA
Poporo is
one of the most important crafts in latin america, it was made in Colombia in
precolumbian age, about 300 years before christ.
Poporo was
made for Golden, with Quimbaya indians, this crafts it’s the most important
symbol with this culture, because it demand effort and dedication if they want
to find a perfect poporo.
Poporo
have more than 700 grams, 23,5 centimeters to tall and 11,4 centimeters in
deameter. Poporo was blown in two parts with a cera technique, this technique desappeared
more than 600 years ago.
Poporo
is the first piece in gold museum in bogota and continue to be a symbole to Colombian
crafts and became in our symbole.
